Ecclesia is a community of believers gathering in homes throughout Tulsa to experience authentic fellowship, meaningful discipleship, and transformative service.
What is Ecclesia?
The Bible says that we don't go to church, but that we are the church (Ephesians 2:21-22). Ecclesia is a community of believers gathering together in homes, coffee shops, parks, and other locations throughout Tulsa.
We follow the model found in Acts 2:42-47, creating spaces for people to share meals, study scripture, pray together, and build authentic relationships. Our gatherings typically have fewer than 30 people, allowing for greater intimacy and interdependence between friends.
When a house church grows too large to comfortably gather in a home, we multiply by division—forming new gatherings while maintaining our connections as one body of believers.
Our Vision
The vision of Ecclesia is to reach out to people and show them the love of Jesus. We create a church that follows the biblical pattern through gathering weekly, mentoring through smaller groups, and serving our community together.
Community
We believe the church is not a building but a community of believers growing together in Christ.
"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common."
Our Gatherings
We currently have three gatherings in different parts of Tulsa. Each gathering is a unique expression of our shared vision to create authentic community.
Midtown Gathering
Our original gathering located in the heart of Midtown Tulsa. We share a meal together, study Scripture, pray, and build deep connections.
Southwest Gathering
Our Southwest Tulsa gathering is a family-focused community that emphasizes fellowship and practical applications of faith.
Youth Gathering
Our youth-focused gathering creates space for teens and young adults to connect, ask questions, and grow in their faith together.
We believe in growth by division. As our gatherings grow, we encourage them to multiply and form new communities.
Our Ecosystem
The vision of Ecclesia, Greek for "gathering," follows the precepts outlined in Acts 2:42. Our ecosystem is built on three foundational elements that guide everything we do.
Gathering Together
People in Ecclesia gather together weekly to grow together. We do this around the table because we believe that food not only brings people together but is biblical (Acts 2:46, Luke 22:14-20, Acts 20:7). We share food, brainstorm ways we can help those around us, and enjoy each other's company. Currently, we meet every Friday night in Midtown and are constantly looking for additional opportunities to hang out.
Mentorship & Discipleship
Each gathering creates an environment for mentorship through micro-bands of people (no larger than six) that meet together regularly. These meetings are designed to help people grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit. Our mentorship meetings include prayer, confession, Bible study, mutual support, and fellowship—creating space for authentic spiritual growth and community.
Serving Our Community
We strive to serve as Jesus served. We encourage everyone to identify needs in the community and invite their friends and neighbors along for the journey. We have multiple ways to serve every month and are continually looking for more opportunities. You do not need to attend a gathering to serve with us. If you would like to serve alongside us, please reach out and let us know how to get plugged in.
